How the payer uses it
- They scan with the phone camera and open the link.

Is this the same as the QR code in the Venmo app?+
Both open your profile. The one in the app (Me tab, then the QR icon) is scanned inside Venmo; this one is a standard link any phone camera opens, in your own colors and as a vector for print.
What happens if the payer does not have Venmo?+
The link opens your Venmo profile in the browser, where they can sign in or get the app. Venmo is for payers with a US account.
Does scanning the code take money?+
No. The code only asks for a payment. The payer's app shows who is being paid and how much, and nothing is sent until they confirm it in their own app.
Is my username sent anywhere?+
No. The code is built in your browser and read back on your device to check it scans. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored.
