URL encoder, decoder and parser
Free URL encoder and decoder with a parser: split any link into scheme, host, path, each query parameter and fragment, decoded, and percent-encode text both ways.
Encode or decode text
For one parameter value: / ? & = # and spaces are all encoded, so the value cannot break the link.
The result shows here as you type.
Long link going on print? Shorten it to an aqr.li link you can change later and count clicks on, or make a free QR code for it.
Paste a link to see its scheme, host, path, query parameters and fragment, each one decoded.
Or type text and encode it for a link, or paste %-encoded text and decode it.
Copy any part, parameter or result with one tap.
Questions
What is URL encoding?+
Links can only carry a small set of characters. Everything else, such as spaces, accents and symbols like & or ?, is written as % followed by two hex digits. A space becomes %20 and é becomes %C3%A9.
When should I encode a value and when a whole link?+
Encode a value when it goes inside a parameter, so a / ? & or = in it cannot break the link. Encode a whole link only to fix spaces or letters in it; that keeps the characters that give the link its structure.
Why do some links have + instead of spaces?+
Web forms send spaces as + in the query string. Tick "Spaces as +" to encode or decode that way. The parser reads + in a query as a space.
What if the text has a broken % code?+
Valid codes are decoded and broken ones, like a lone % or %zz, are left as written, with a note so you can spot them.
Is anything I paste sent to a server?+
No. Parsing, encoding and decoding all happen in your browser tab.

Make the code the artwork.
These tools make and check classic codes. AriaQR turns your photo, logo or illustration into the code itself, verified on real decoders before you download, with a link you can edit and track.
