What can match-day QR code ideas do for a restaurant on a big cricket night? They turn a crowd that stays for three hours, orders in waves and wants to feel part of the game into bookings, bigger orders and regulars. All it takes is one printed code per table that you update before every game.
Here are ten ideas for restaurants, cafés and sports bars across India, for league season and international tours alike.
Match-day QR code ideas before the first ball
Book a table for the big match. The final, a derby or a rivalry game fills a room days in advance. Put a code on posters, the window and your social posts that opens your booking page. People who book are people who show up.
A match-day menu that changes per game. Print one table tent with a code, and before each match, point it at that night's menu: team-color mocktails, sharing platters, a special for every six. Because the code is dynamic, the tent never changes, only the page behind it. Our guide to restaurant and hotel QR codes covers menus in more detail.

Wi-Fi for fans. Fans check scores, replays and fantasy teams all evening. A Wi-Fi code on each table joins your network in one scan, without anyone spelling out the password. Wi-Fi codes hold the details inside the code, so they work without any link.
A WhatsApp line for match-night offers. A WhatsApp code with a pre-filled message such as "Add me to match-night updates" lets fans opt in to hear about the next screening.
Ideas during the match
Predict the score. Point a code at a short Google Form: final score, top scorer, number of sixes. Announce the winner at the end, with a dessert or a free table at the next match as the prize. It keeps people at the table through the second innings.
Innings-break specials. The break is when everyone orders. Change the menu code's destination to an innings-break offer just before it starts, then back again. It takes seconds from your phone.
Split the bill with UPI. At the end of a group night, nobody wants to work out shares. A UPI payment code on each table, with the amount left blank, lets every person pay their own share in their own UPI app. The code holds your UPI ID and payee name inside it, so it opens straight in any UPI app.
Make the code look like your brand. A black square on a table tent tells people nothing. A code built from your logo tells them whose table they are sitting at. This one is a real, scannable code made from a burger restaurant's logo:

A QR code with your logo keeps your brand on every table, and each one is verified on real decoders under real-world conditions before download. Our post on café table QR code art has more ideas for table designs.
For a field-green look on posters, a styled code works too:

After the final
Ask for a review on the way out. Fans who had a great night are happy to say so. Put a Google review code on the bill folder or the exit, with a line such as "Watched the match with us? Tell people how it was."
Bring them back for the next series. Change the booking code to the next screening calendar as soon as the season ends. The posters and table tents stay up, and the code keeps working between tournaments.
Which code did the work?
If you put codes on table tents, posters around the neighborhood and delivery boxes, make a separate code for each spot. With placements on a subscription plan, the dashboard compares them side by side: scans, unique visitors, and the hour of day people scanned. The hour-of-day view shows when in the evening people actually scanned, which tells you when to run offers next time.
A few practical tips for busy nights:
- Laminate table tents. Drinks get spilled when a wicket falls.
- Keep codes at eye level on posters. People scan where they stand.
- Use dark on light. Dim screening rooms make low-contrast codes harder to scan.
- Test on two phones. One iPhone and one Android, in the actual room light.
Where to start
Start with the code that pays for itself fastest: table bookings for the next big match. Put it on a poster in the window and on your social posts this week. Once the room is full, add the menu table tent and the UPI code for bills.
